Frozen Grapes

As summer approaches, and the days get hotter, I'd like to share a simple recipe for a delicious summer treat.  I discovered frozen grapes a few years ago, and thought it was a brilliant idea!  Frozen grapes, taste both sweet and tart.  When ever I eat frozen grapes, it reminds me of sorbet, because of the smooth texture that follows after biting into the fruit.  I love eating frozen grapes, it's very refreshing, and healthy at the same time.

Frozen Grapes

You can use either green or red grapes, or both, and its probably better to use seedless grapes.  You don't want to have those seeds in the way! So if you ever have grapes in your fridge, try freezing them up.  What's also refreshing to have during the summer is frozen watermelon! Its sweet, delicious and extremely refreshing!

Seattle Adventures - Serious Pie

I had an enjoyable time, during happy hour at Serious Pie. We started off ordering a couple of drinks, followed by two different pizzas. The pizzas were seriously delicious! They top the pizzas off with the most mouth watering and delicious ingredients. The pizza crust is light and crunchy with a slightly chewy texture.  I would say that they have a really good pizza crust!  Which is highly essential for pizza joints to have.

Roasted Mushroom with Truffle Cheese and Cherry Bomb Peppers with Sweet Fennel Sausage

On to the flavors, we ordered two different pizzas of the menu, the first pizza would be the Roasted Mushroom with Truffle Cheese.  The Roasted Mushroom with Truffle Cheese had the best tasting cheese! It is an incredible fusion of great tasting flavors. I really enjoyed the simple choices of ingredients, and the tasty flavors of the truffle cheese.  The Roasted Mushroom with Truffle Cheese is by far my favorite pizza at Serious Pie.  The second pie that we ordered was the Cherry Bomb Peppers with Sweet Fennel Sausage. You can definitely taste the distinct flavors of fennel in the sausage.   It was quite enjoyable. As you may have guessed, I still preferred the Roasted Mushroom pizza, however the Cherry Bomb Peppers would be the runner up.

Serious Pie - Tom Douglas

The savory treats only cost us $5 during the happy hour from 3pm-5pm.  I would recommend anyone to visit this joint, for a nice appetizing meal or snack.

Seattle Adventures- Cow Chip Cookies

Upon entering Cow Chip Cookies, you can smell the sweet aroma of chocolate chip cookies.  The store has a good selection of cookies, but my cousin and I were eyeing on the chocolate chip cookies.   The cookies have a chewy texture, and taste pretty darn good.

I just wish that the cookies were served warm!  If you ever buy some back, try heating the cookies up in the oven for a few minutes.  They will taste great! Especially with a glass of milk!

Seattle Adventures - Bottega Italiana

After strolling around Pikes Market, during a hot sunny day, my cousin suggested that we stop by Bottega Italiana for some gelato.

The store had a good selection of Gelato flavors.  I went for the watermelon and pineapple gelato.  The gelato tasted like fresh fruits with a light and creamy texture.  It was very delicious and refreshing at the same time.  I would have had seconds, but we had to go to Serious Pie (Which was fantastic!)

Overall Bottega Italiana serves delicious and refreshing treat.  If you are ever around Pikes Market in Seattle, be sure to stop by Bottega Italiana for some gelato!

Singaporean Food Adventures- Part 1

I am the biggest fan of Singaporean food! So I will be posting images of food that I ate during my trips to Singapore! Stay-Tuned!

Here is the first part of my Singaporean Food Adventures - My day at a Singaporean Buffet!

A large selection of foods filled the buffet tables, ranging from Malaysian, Singaporean, Chinese and Indian cuisine. These are the four main cultures that play a large role in the Singaporean Culture. It was a beautiful sight! I was visually drawn towards the vast assortment of food. The sight of the food was mouth watering. All the dishes seemed to have their own flair and personality.  The dishes used exotic spices, each of them having a distinct taste, and texture. The one thing that all the dishes had in common, was the fact that they all tasted great!  That is why I love Singaporean food so much.

(Click the images to have a clearer viewing experience!)

A selection of savory snacks

The desserts had a bright, vibrant and eye-catching appeal. They looked too pretty to eat. They came in all shapes, sizes, textures, and ranged from hot to cold. I had my fair share of desserts, and it was quite a fulfilling experience!

Lee's Donuts

I love donuts!  Even though they are loaded with calories and other delicious artery clogging ingredients. But who can resist doughnuts at Lee's?  I personally think that they have the the best doughnuts in Vancouver.  Every time I crave for a doughnut I immediately think of their soft, fresh honey dipped doughnut.  Oh how I wish I could just beam myself to Lee's!

If you ever have the chance to visit Lee's Donuts make sure you check out their Apple Fritters.  They are Massive!

I was lucky enough to go on a nice bike ride around Stanley Park.  It was a beautiful day, the sun was shinning and the sky was blue.  As we were biking, I noticed a few berries along the trail, and decided to take pictures!

Strawberry Cheesecake

Homemade Strawberry Cheesecake
I love cheesecakes! I made a couple of cheesecakes for my friends and family.  I used my own recipe because I love experimenting with different flavors and ingredients. My recipe is pretty simple to follow, or at least I think so.  In the end my cheesecake had a light, smooth and delicate texture.  I'm still experimenting working on a cheese cake recipe, however this one taste pretty good!

    Strawberry Silken Tofu Pie

Fresh, Smooth Strawberry Silken Tofu Pie with a Graham Cracker Crust

I was inspired create a healthy dessert, and came up with the idea of a strawberry silken tofu pie.  I had a lot of strawberries in the fridge, so I decided to use them all up!  The pie tasted like a mix between a strawberry smoothie and mousse.  I was surprise that this pie was edible.  I expected the tofu to remain lumpy, gross and inedible, however the pie had a smooth consistency.  Not bad, considering that this pie was made of Tofu!

I think a chocolate silken tofu pie, would taste much better.    So I will probably make Alton Brown's Moo-Less Pie one day!

Almond Jelly with Lychee and Mixed Fruits

    Home Made Almond Jelly

Almond Jelly Ingredients:  Agar-Agar, Water, Soy-milk, Almond Extract, Condense Milk
Best Served With:  Lychee and Canned/Fresh Fruit

The best thing about this dessert is that it uses agar-agar instead of gelatin.  For those who don't know, Gelatin is made of Collagen, Cartilaginous cuts of meat or bones.  I won't lie, I love eating jello, especially my Grandma's Rainbow Jello!  Agar-Agar on the other hand, is a natural vegetable gelatin made of seaweed.

On a Bright Sunny Day, I headed down to the brand new Japadog Store for a nice meal.  When I arrived, the store was packed with people, waiting for their food.  So I made my way over to the cashier line, which was relatively short, and ordered the famous Terimayo, and a bag of Shake Fries.  The food came out within five minutes, and I was very happy with the speedy service that day.  Overall I enjoyed my meal, and I will definitely return!

Terimayo - Beef Hotdog, with Seaweed, Fried Onions, and Mayonnaise (One of my favorites)

Butter Shoyu - Shake Fries $2.39
Shake Fries is a new addition to the Japadog Menu.  The Fries were literally shaken in a paper bag, with flavors such as Aonori, Terriyaki, Japa Shio, Butter and Shoyu.  I chose to have the Butter and Shoyu.  The fries had a nice buttery flavor, but tasted a bit like McDonald's Fries.

    Pojang Macha

At first when you pass by this place, you would think the place is still under renovation due to all the orange tarp that is plastered all over the walls.  However the orange tarp creates the atmosphere of a street food stall in Korea.  The inside of the place resembles a giant tent in my opinion.

    - Very Tasty

    Singapore McDonald's Curry Sauce

So there is a lot of things you can eat with fries, other than ketchup.  Apparently in Singapore you can have your  nugget and fries with Curry Sauce! Yes that's right, CURRY SAUCE! I love eating fries with other sauces besides the common ketchup sauce.  My favorite sauce would have to be garlic mayonnaise, or even gravy.
Curry Sauce - Not Very Healthy, made in the USA
So how does Curry Sauce from McDonald's Singapore taste? Well it taste like curry, and it has a slight sweetness to it.  It doesn't taste all that bad.  Is it my new favorite sauce? No... not really, I'd rather stick to having my fries with gravy, or Garlic Mayonnaise.  Would I try it again? Probably...

    Chocolate Cake

I tried to create my own version of the chocolate chiffon cake, however it turned out a little dense.  It did not taste so bad, it was still edible, and had a nice chocolate flavor.

    Chocolate Cake with Ganache Glaze

This cake would taste great with lots and lots of chocolate frosting!
